Soul Paintings act as permanent reminders of who we truly are and become a way of connecting to our souls. What is a soul? What is its purpose? Why would I want to know my soul? Who am I beyond my human form? What if it were possible to have a conduit to your soul that allowed you to gain insights into who you are beyond your human form? Would you take that opportunity?
“All beauty in the realm of nature, art, or personality is silent music. Every soul has been born on earth to love what is beautiful, and beauty is its only sustenance.”
Hazrat Inayat Kahn, ‘The Mysticism of Sound & Music’
When we have that link to the higher levels of our consciousness, it becomes easier to express that truth to the world. We become aware that many of the issues we accepted as part of life before, are actually an illusion and that we are not limited by those conditions we have taken for granted.
How it is possible to paint a soul? Well, it isn’t possible to do justice to the full magnificence of the soul-body in a two dimensional painting. However, it is possible to create a representation of the soul and that might include specific colours, symbols and crystals that represent qualities of it or the person who commissions the painting. There are many components that can be incorporated into the painting, including the impression of the radiatory light and expanse of the soul and the infinite being beyond.
The paintings take some time to prepare for and to paint. There are many layers of colour and information laid down onto the canvas and it is all about remembering the wisdom, truth, creativity, grace, beauty, harmony, power, integrity, joy, clarity, trust, faith, knowingness and timelessness of who we are.
Apart from the potential life-long benefit to the person whose soul I am painting, it is also an immense honour and privilege for me to meet them at that level of their Being. The soul is beyond the ‘small self’ – beyond the trivia of human existence – and holds a much bigger picture for us to tap into. There is always the knowingness that everything is in perfect order, everyone is part of a greater whole and that any vision of reality that we choose to create is possible. We can create a world of beauty, compassion, kindness and unity if we are willing and able to find and hold that vision because it is already happening at that level of our consciousness. The schism is where we – humanity – have lost awareness of that truth. The soul is part of a collective, so it is natural at that level for us to co-create our reality. When we filter the essence of our soul through our human-ness, it becomes easier for us to co-create our reality in the earth dimensions as well.
It is my hope that by creating paintings that help us to remember our limitless-ness, it will enable and inspire us to express that limitless-ness and live our full potential – to live as our souls – in full knowledge and awareness of who we all are.
